Musa Dagh Factoids

For The Week of July 9, 2000

Who were the Kirajas?

The Kirajas were muleteers who commuted mainly between Musa Dagh and Antioch to carry orders back and forth daily, except on Sundays. They also worked for the wood cutters and charcoal makers. Most of the inhabitants of the Yamaj or Amaj neighborhood of Yoghun Oluk served as muleteers.
