Musa Dagh Factoids

How many political parties were there in Musa Dagh?

During the interwar years (1919-1939), there were two major political parties in Musa Dagh: The Social Democrat Hnchakian Party and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation or Tashnagtsutiun. While neither party preponderated numerically, the Tashnagtsutiun dominated domestic and regional politics. In addition, there was an insignificant Communist cell. There also existed the Hay Lekeonagan Miutiun (union of former volunteers in the French Legion d'Orient), which, although not a political party as such, was at times used as a venue for political gains by individuals and other organizations.
